International Students Visual Arts Contest – Hong Kong

A Few weeks ago we received a surprise call. A person who works with the Bureau of Hong Kong asked Schim to be a judge for The International Students Visual Arts Contest-cum-Exhibition of Hong Kong, 2014.

It is a large art contest sponsored by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong.

The Purpose of the contest is to nurture young people’s interest in the visual arts, and foster international art and cultural communication.

Schim happily accepted and was flown to Hong Kong to help judge over 3000 pieces of 2D artwork in all mediums from 38 different countries submitted. There were a total of nine judges.

The entrees came from children ages 5 through 19 divided into four age groups.

Schim had a great time in Hong Kong and spent a ton of time looking at many talented young artist works. He will also fly back for the award ceremony in Hong Kong on August 14th.
